Thankyou all for the cards, e-cards, phone calls, musical messages, and personal birthday greetings. It was a good birthday. I started out the day with breakfast at IHOP with my little family. I was full the rest of the day. I got home just in time to drop Brian in his car to go to work and to leave for a doctors appointment. Good news there is that the good ole doc will forgo all the building up steps with medication which means I am not completely starting at block one. If the same stuff as before doesn’t work this time there is a surgery that I may end up doing that he said usually solves the problem. Hopefully, I won’t have to go that route.
After that I went home and took a nap with SV. We hadn’t slept much the night before so that was really nice. We waited for Brian to get home and he did get home close to 7 bearing gifts. A bouquet of sunflowers ( the first flowers he gave me 7 years ago on my birthday) and a cell phone. A cell phone you say? I know we got rid of them before because of the cost. It is true the cheapest plan in this town ends up being close to $60 a month with all the taxes and stuff. Well, this one is not a plan but a trac phone. Brain bought me the phone ( cutest little thing you ever saw) and all I have to do is purchase minutes on cards from Walmart or Target or wherever else they are sold. As long as I add minutes every 60 days I keep the same phone number and don’t have to set up service again. The cheapest it will be then is $15 every 60 days. I promise that the phone is only for minimal use and emergencies. It feels good to have it though so I can keep in better contact with Brain especially when he is in school or we are traveling without him.
Brian took me out to dinner at a place in Moorpark called the Wood Ranch BBQ and Grill. Tasty! They are known for thier tri-tip for good reason. Something else really cool (for those with little kids) is they have a complimentary toddler sampler plate with a tiny banana, cheerios, and some oranges. SV enjoyed that and got huffy with Brain when he stole a cheerio. There was so much food I enjoyed mine again a few nights later too. Lastly, that night we had some cheesecake that I made for myself and chilled until we fell asleep.
The next morning, celebration continued as Mom took me out to breakfast at a place in the Commons in Calabasas. That was really nice and then SV and just hung out for the rest of the day in Calabasas. Another birthday, History.
On the Mo front. We have reports from the neighbors that he cries the whole time we are gone. This eliminates leaving him on the patio where I prefer so there is no mess to clean up in the house. They can hear him in the house too, which means I will have to close the windows and keep him in a confined area. Mo, for mo’ trouble than he’s worth. He hs learned to sleep in his crate really well though, and likes to relax in it even when we don’t put him there.
As I edited an posted this picture SV saw it and ssid, “betday mommy!” It certainly doesn’t take them long to grasp abstract concepts like the celebration of a day for only one person. I am amazed.
