  • We had a great time at the Ventura County Fair yesterday.  We went with the “tuzzins ” during the day and found all the stuff we entered.  All of us took had winning entries which is pretty cool, I think.  My year old jelly that I entered because I had in got 3rd.  (I think there were only three entries though.  Is that like a slap in the face?)  The activity book I did for SV’s birthday got an honorable mention.  Liesl streaked away with a 1st and 2nd for her wheat bread and muffins.    And the kidlets did 1st 2nd and 3rd  between them for some of their writings and art.  Way to go!

Liesl gave us some ride tickets and so I took SV down a big slide.  It was wasted on her.  She got scared and screamed in terror most the way down.  I had fun though.  We really dug the pig races though.  Something everyone should see at least once in thier lifetime.  We rested later in the afternoon and then when Brian got home from work, we went back and battled some major crowds.  We showed him our exhibits and we ate dinner.  We mostly just walked around and people watched.  We also burned our toungues on dippin’ dots, a flash frozen ice cream that is REALLY cold.  We were able to see the fireworks and that was fun, however, Serra again was not impressed.  The first few scared her and then she refused to look at anymore.  We managed to lose SV’s shoe.  She told me she dropped it on the street.  So I went back and looked and miraculously found it.  No small miracle, let me tell you.

Well, I have a gazillion things to get done that I am avoiding like shampooing the carpet so I must cut this short.  Here are some pictures though.
