Thursday last week we drove down to Huntington Beach where Holly was attending a vet conference and we had dinner together. Two hours wasn’t quite enough but we will take what we can get. While we were eating (Olive Garden) Brian crunched down on a pistachio shell. He was eating a pasta dish so that didn’t make much sense. As we thought about the menu we realized that there isn’t anything that would call for pistachios. We deducted that someone in the kitchen was probably eating them and dropped one in. Hello, health code violation… Anyway, Brian finished his meal, and when the waitress picked up our plates he just mentioned it. We weren’t expecting anything since it didn’t deter him from enjoying the meal anyway, but the manager came by and apologized and all but admitted that someone in the back was responsible. They took a sizable chunk off the bill. Brian felt a little sheepish about it. We were glad we got to spend some time with Holly though.
Friday I did a photo shoot for a customer from last year. Her daughter is turning 16 and wanted some nice pictures up for her party November 12th. She wanted to hire me for the party but I wasn’t able to commit to that since who knows when this baby is coming. They also want family pictures done again at the end of November. I will most likely do those. We’ll see how I am feeling though.
Saturday Serra attended a costume birthday party and we took the opportunity to get her pictures done before. She is quite the little poser. She is always asking me to take her picture so when I finally do a photo shoot with her she hams it up quite nicely.
Sunday was our primary program. I was a bit stressed about it especially when I got to church and there were only 2 kids there. As it turned out we only had 2 kids not participate (from the same family) one was sick and the oldest boy refused and was throwing fits about it. We had copies of their parts and did them anyway. We never were able to time the program in our practices and we were counting our blessings when we ended right at the exact time. I had one small solo which is challenging when you can’t get enough breath to finish a phrase and a small talk at the end. Serra also had a line and unfortunately it was at the end. She was asking me through out the whole program when it was her turn. When it came time, she got up there, grabbed the microphone and delivered her line. She also sang all the songs with gusto getting the last word of nearly every line and filling in the middle with her own words. It was pretty cute. I’m glad to have it done.
Here is what you really want: This year Serra is a butterfly. The pumpkin is one we grew in our little patch and it is one cool pumpkin.
And for posterity sake…

Thank you for the prego picture. Maren has asked me twice, with all the cameras in this family, why there are no pictures of the pregnant ladies and their progress. Get on the ball Julie
glad to see someone in close competition with my HUGE belly. Eric keeps saying he’s going to get a side shot soon so I guess he’d better, we of course have one or two from all the previous babies. You look Great! And your hair looks so much longer than the last time we gathered. hope you’re feeling somewhat comfortable!!
your hair IS long, and serra is sure hamming it up! So I’ve 85% decided to come home for thanksgiving. I sure hope you have a baby by then!
great costume!!!!
Very cool costume. Hold on to it so I can borrow it, okay? I’ve decide that without you, my child will never have cool costumes. You look great & mighty uncomfortable. Maybe the baby will come today or tomorrow or sooner than later. When will you bless her?
Pam, you are so talented! I can not believe how big Serra is getting, and you look great!–maren
Thanks everyone. I don’t like pictures of myself right now because of the serious puffiness, so I only take one for the kids book. I imagine the blessing will be the first Sunday in December. We certainly don’t expect anyone to make the trip especially during such a busy time of the year. If it turns out that many will be home for T-Day and she comes within the next few weeks maybe we can make some special arrangements. I know the Andersons would not be able to make it around T-day though so that may not be an option. And Serra, if I don’t have the baby by T-day, I’ll do my own C-dection.
is today your birth- day. Not yet, today is wednesday, wednesday? wednesday!
Did pam make that butterfly? it’s lovey! SHE’S LOVELY! Pam has one coming in a few DAY! ~katrina~
Shoot for next tues. (8th) and our baby will have a twin cousin on each side- my other sis-in-law is have a C-section that day too. I’m being induced around 7:30am. Maiah keeps forgetting your expecting again and keeps telling me that’s Serra in your belly in that picture so we’ll need picture proof for her of Serra as big sis soon. We’re sure excited for you guys!
