I am beginning to think we may not be announcing every time we make an offer on something. The market is such that places in our price range last about 24 hours on the market. We were the first ones in but not the most, what they consider “stable offer”. Someone else came in 4K higher with 20% down. We countered back with 4K higher but we simply do not have 40K to put down. Man! This may take awhile. When Corine ran our price range through the MLS a few weeks ago, for the whole of Ventura and some of LA county, only 11 places came up. 11. That is pitiful. There is such a demand and simply not enough for sale to fill that demand. I naively figured that when we were ready, we would find a place, make an offer and, badda bing. It happened for us like that in Vegas. So let the games begin. It’s going to take nothing short of a miracle to find a decent place and have the owners “choose” our offer out of a stack of similar offers.

Sorry Pam. What a pain! At least you aren’t in a hotel or someplace dumpy while you look and wait. There is a new “low income” development going up here in Camarillo. New homes starting at 200K. The problem is there will only be 9 homes built I think. You put in an application and there is a lottery from that. Do you want me to pick up an application for you? Deadline in July 1st. ~L
just keep in mind that its not your time table your working from.
Low income @ $200,000…yeesh…and yes, thank you Leisl. -B
Good luck finding a casa. I’m beginning to think that Logan housing is not so bad & Jared & I had it really easy in finding a place.
Pam, I went a picked up the application, or at least tried to, but found out the lottery is only open to residents of the city. You have to go through several “reviews” by the city to prove income, credit, etc, but one of the reviews is to prove you currently live here. Sorry! I tried though! ~L
