I wanted to wring her neck and she knew it. “Sorry Mom! Sorry Mom!” Is what she kept repeating. I was horrified at the carnage. I always knew if I was going to happen, Rosie would be the one to do it. She has this glitch in her brain that says, “I know this is wrong, but I really can’t help myself.” So she does it and then feels badly. Here is what happened.
The girls were supposedly tucked away in bed and Brian and I were starting to relax and working on getting Weston settled down for the night. Serra comes out of her room and whispers to me. “Mom, I opened my eyes and saw Rosie on the bathroom counter, and she’s cutting her hair.” I thought, surely just a few strands. Then I opened the door. The little imp’s hair was litterally butchered. She had cut it short all around her face and left a nice mullet hanging down the back. I freaked out and she knew she was in trouble. I guess I can be thankful that she didn’t cut it right at her scalp. We still can’t figure out what she was thinking. Serra is perplexed. “Why would she do something like that.”
It’s a good thing I had no where to be this morning unlike the rest of the week. I spent about 30 minutes trying to salvage what was left. It looks OK but I still may take her to someone who can fix it better. It’s a good thing she has some curl in her hair(it hides problem spots) and that she has a LOT of hair because it could have been a lot worse.
But how can you not love that face?
Beans.

Rosie and Dakota are cut from the exact same cloth…those impulses are just too hard to control! Good thing you had Serra as your eyes, Taylor often tells me what Dakota is up to as well. I think you and I have clones of each other’s children, sometimes when I read your blog I could just change the names and it is like reading about my own monkeys. Too bad you guys live far away
Poor girl, but I would be mad to…WHY???? Turned out dang cute though.
Sweet little Rosie- I think she has good intentions but sometimes it just doesn’t work out.
OH MY GOSH!!!!! I am sure you handled it better than I would have. Good thing it wasn’t Serra. She doesn’t have the amount or the curl to hide it. Little Rosie… how can you help but love her. She does look pretty cute with her new do… have to admit. She might just like it so well she will do it again.
Your bottles of beans look GREAT! A lot of work but the outcome is beautiful!!!! mom
I can barely take my hand down from my mouth to type. I would have a heart attack! Liv cut Evelyn’s hair once in just a few places & I’m still dealing with the minute pieces of carnage. Rosie, Rosie, Rosie…I guess hair grows right? Although you might find that having her hair short might be easier. She looks SO different with bangs & short hair.
How funny that is when it is not your kid…you did a great job fixing it. She looks cute – a good cut for the summer.
She looks cute though- solace in that. She looks more like SerraV in the last 2 shots. Good patch up job Pam! ~L
ahahha. sorry, but thats funny. Her new do really is very cute. I hope I laugh like this when/if my own kid does that… hhahah. glad she didnt cut anything that bleeds.
Oh my goodness!! On the bright side, Pam great job on the repair hair cut. The new cut really brings out her great curls. I can’t believe how much hair that girl has!–maren
Oh my goodness – what a pile of hair! Hope you saved some for her scrap book, the little stinker. I guess you have a budding hairdresser. Did you know that your Grandma Brower was a beautician?
WOW! I’m thinkin… poor MOM!
Hurt my mouth I was laughing so hard!!
I wonder if your kids are going to start associating getting in trouble with you getting out the camara to record the moment.
Funniest moment of the day! You should have left the mullet! I can only imagine the conversations…”pam, what did you do to Rosies hair? You know Rosie, all business in the front, and party in the back!”
Happy Mothers Day
I think it looks really cute short!~K
..and now since she does look so cute she probably feels justified in her little noddy! That was quite the butch she gave herself! I’d have a heart-attack if that was my girls. Monson did that to his hair right down to the scalp, front and center… when he was two. I was so made I shaved the whole thing bald…mean mommie:) Rosie is darling however her hair is, but I know the terror you must have felt!
