I will update on all the Christmas happenings when I get my house in order and Christmas put away. I am very slow these days in getting these things accomplished and have made poor Serra my little stair runner. She doesn’t complain. Bless her little heart.
Baby update: I had a doc appointment today. I am at 35 weeks. We did another ultrasound to see if the baby is continuing the humongous trend that we checked on a few weeks ago. Indeed this little critter is well on it’s way to becoming a record setter. The baby is measuring 42 weeks. (Babies are considered full term at 40 weeks) 9 lbs 7 oz is the estimated weight right now. There is a 20% margin of error in that estimate which means it could be at 8-7 or a whopping 10-7 right now. But even 8-7 at 35 weeks is a bit much. With a 1/2 – 1 lb growth each week this critter could potentially be anywhere between 11 and 15 lbs.
My choices. 1. Let the baby come on it’s own and take my chances.(Not considering this option) 2. Get an amnio done on the 9th and if the lungs are developed fully induce on the 10th. (37 weeks gestation) 3. Wait until the 17th which is 38 weeks and induce without having to do an amnio.
We are considering the 2nd and 3rd option and will make the choice by next Thursday. I really don’t want to do an amnio but waiting another week could mean another pound. Either way we will have a baby in 2 or 3 weeks. I have a lot to get done. Let the nesting begin.

Do you have gestational diabetes or are you just growing a 3-month-old miniature Brian inside of you?? That’s a tough decision…good luck with the home stretch–shay
No I don’t have GD. In fact my glucose numbers were excellent.
I saw serra helping you out up here. You are right, she is very good about it. Good luck.
I’m thinking BIG means boy! How’s that for a jinx? -B
Your baby might make it here before mine! I’ll be thinking of you and hope all goes smooth. Love you guys. Amy
Do they make baby carriers that big? You may need to go straight to the car seat!
wow. good luck. we’ll be anxiously awaiting your decision and the news of the safe arrival of baby with a healthy, still smiling mama.
Can’t wait to hear your choice. Happy New Year, and good luck with the baby.
My vote is #3. Not as many needles involved. What’s one more week & an extra pound when we’re talking this huge anyway?
An extra pound could be the difference for shoulder dystocia or emergency c-section. That is why we are considering it.
emergency c-section is HORRIBLE. I’m still (7 1/2 months later) recovering from mine.
I can’t even imagine a v-birth with such a whopper. The sooner the better is my vote. ~L
Emergency c-section is better than v-birth with a baby that big. We did it three times–but we are still recovering too. They will be gone in about 8 years…! ~d
I think I would rather hear Barbara’s opinion on what is worse.
