  • All I can say is BRUTAL.  I just dropped my Serra off for her first day of Kindergarten and I don’t know if it is hormones or just saying goodbye as I leave my little one in the hands of strangers, but I had a bit of a weep over it.  Rosie started wailing as soon as she realized Serra wasn’t coming back to the car with us.  She cried all the way home and wept bitterly when we got home.  She said over and over, “Dahwah away”.  I hugged her and told her I know how she feels.  Serra was totally fine with the whole thing.  She had a friend before she went in the classroom and they held hands and walked in side by side.  She gave me a quick hug and went on in saying “bye Mom”.

Brian has been telling her for weeks he has changed his mind and he called the school and told them Serra wasn’t coming to school.  When she finally realized he was joking, she told him , “Don’t worry, Dad, it will be OK.”

  • quite the poser.

  • I remember those first days of school. It never got easier… sorry!

  • Wow Brian- that is quite a story. I am glad a bug didn’t poop on your face or in your Robertos. That would get me in for a test real quick. Serra looked adorable and I am so excited for her. I hope she is having fun. Hope to see you guys soon. Love you! Amy Jo

  • Love the outfit…and the pose!

  • I totally didn’t realize that she was old enough to go to school! Holy cow. I’m freaking out over that. That’s a big moment for you guys. I’m glad that she found a friend. I think it would have been even more difficult to watch her walk in alone.

  • shes already old enough? man. guess that means we’re all getting old!

  • MILESTONE!!  Major.  ~L

  • I’m glad I’m not the only mom that has to go through this…the second day was even harder for me.  We should start a support group.  Also, I read the post by Brian about the parasites…hilarious story but only because it turned out to be a false alarm.
