So let me back up a few weeks. I had a birthday and I have already forgotten how old that makes me. That morning Brian took us girls to IHOP for breakfast. It was fun but not very relaxing with the little ones. They finish eating and are ready to go. And it doesn’t take them long to finish. I spent the day at home. I made sure the days before I finished all the housework that needed to be done so I could relax. I think I took a nap. Mom and Dad pulled in later in the afternoon. We left the girls with a babysitter and met Jeff at Marens school restaurant for dinner. While we were waiting to be seated Brian got a call from one of his employees (Richard) that had just been in a pretty bad car accident. Richard wouldn’t leave in an ambulance because he was concerned about the thousands of dollars worth of tools that would be left behind. Brian wasn’t able to reach his Dad and so headed to the accident. He ended up missing dinner entirely. We still had a great time but I would like to go back with him sometime. It was very fancy and tasty food.
We came back to our house for dessert. Mom and Dad headed out bright and early the next morning. They came back Sunday night and spent Monday with us again. We enjoyed the peaches they brought back from CA. We finished the ones they left just as the ones I ordered from Utah came in. I had one 20# box and they were amazing. I ended up canning 10 quarts this weekend.
Rosie got her cast removed and she doesn’t seem to miss it at all. Her skin where the cast had been was a little raw for a few days as it peeled off in sheets. I don’t think we realize how much skin we sluff off everyday.
We have been busy getting all the supplies Serra needs for school. We received a large list from her teacher and some of it has not been easy to find or is so expensive I am just not getting it. We haven’t bought any new clothes yet because I don’t want to buy a bunch of T-shirts she will grow out of before next summer. She will have to make do with what she has until the weather turns cold in a few months. She is getting very excited to start kindergarten and I think she will do very well.
Brian is so busy with work. He is gone by 7 every morning. That’s before I’m up. And typically gets home around 7pm unless I need him home earlier and he adjusts his day. Then I either have meetings or visits in the evenings or he goes and works out. We are finding our Saturdays and Sundays are the only days we really get to see him for any length of time. He does make an effort to spend that hour in the evenings before the girls go to bed rough housing with them, but I don’t remember the last time we had a real conversation. (I go to bed at the same time as the kids)
So here are some recent pictures. Peaches canned, Rosie’s first curler adventure, and Serra at swim lessons.

Cute pictures, (as usual). That video of gimpy Rosie is very cute and sad! I am so glad she got it off! When does Serra start school? My girls started yesterday and are LOVING it!
Poor little Rosie… glad the cast is off…
great update. Poor brian not being able to relax!
Great update! Was Richard OK? What a stalwart – looking after the tools. I can just imagine him telling the EMTs “tis but a flesh wound.”
Peaches look fabo and I’m a little sad that cute cast is gone! ~g
I wish I would have thought of this sooner…but I should have sent down an eye patch for Rosie…ARRRR
If it had been around Halloween we would have fashioned a rude crutch and taught her to say “God bless us, everyone.”
If it weren’t so darn cute, it’d be sad! Will she ever walk normal again?
She walks completely normal now.
Pam, Is “Hotel Anderston” still open for visitors again this year. I am planning on coming down the end of September for the MH Rental Convention like I did last year. Wondered if I could stay with you guys. We are going to be in Idaho for an Alder reunion, and then come on down. If Judy Lynn decides to come down too, then we will be in a MH and will not need a bed. Too bad your driveway is not big enough for a MH and we could park the thing there. Let me know your plans. U.Roger
Absolutely..you’re always welcome Uncle Roger. Randy Johnson will be staying with us as well so the more the merrier. -B
Poor limp-a-long Rosie! How cute is she, dragging that cast around! Glad you taped it for posterity! She will love seeing that when she is older. We are glad she has the cast off and can go back to being a normal kid. She is so adorable! So is Serra! Cute, cute girls. I AM planning on coming to LV with Roger in the motorhome. We are excited to see you guys
. Love A. Judy
