  • This is a lot of review with a little new at the end.

    Dear Family,
We are glad to see July swept under the rug.  While Brian enjoyed a
week in the Windrivers with my brothers and Dad we girls were supposed
to be doing the same in Logan.  The trip started out lousy as we got
caught in the fires along the I-15.  We got detoured and we had no
idea of knowing how far and for how long.  It ended up being 4 hours
added to an already 9 hour trip.  I can’t believe how well our girls
did.  Sophia at 18 months only started losing it during the last 30
minutes.  I was most perturbed at the chip I received on the
windshield of my brandspanken new Odyssey.  The first thing I did the
next morning was get it fixed.
Tuesday I decided to drive to Preston to spend the evening with
Mom.  While driving through Smithfield (tremendous amount of road
construction) as I sat in traffic, a guy in a huge Chevy truck (just
driven off the lot), busy with his cell phone, slammed in to the back
of me.  So much for just a chipped windshield.  I was so angry and
couldn’t think straight.  After collecting his information we took off
realizing he could have given me completely bogus info and I would
have no recourse.  I called Julie who made some inquiries with the
police through Andy Barnes and told me to do what I could to get a
police report.  The guy was also headed to Preston and was still
behind me.  I waved him over and called the police.  He was freaking
out on me (probably because he smelled like alcohol).  Long story
short:  we got the police report and this past week got a check to get
the car fixed.  One more note on the car before I leave it alone.
Along with my destroyed bumper  - while I was in a parking lot
sometime that day someone hit the front of my car.  Julie’s friend
noticed the scraped off paint and bumper residue.  We got an estimate
  • happy birthday tomorrow.

  • Ditto to Julie’s wishes.  I’ve heard Scottsdale is a very nice place.  And first class flying….you NEVER will go back as long as you can afford it! ~L

  • Wow – what a good month to be done with.  Great letter!  ~g

  • I was just thinking how great it is sometimes when time passes. I hope your birthday was grand! I was gone to a Scout training all week and forgot to remind Eric and the girls. I’m sure you were treated well by Bri. Looking forward to hearing that your adventures have slowed down.

  • Happy week old birthday…I knew I had a sibling with a birthday in August! I guess that will teach you not to go on Vacations and never to buy new cars! I cant believe what a bad luck month July was for you! Im glad that the serious stuff tuned out only to be a deformation.

  • Sooooo, what else is new?? As you can probably tell from your footprints we check in often. The kids are always anxious to see new pictures. Hope you are all good. Oh. Brian is actually on the phone right now. Funny.
