She has figured it out….Rosie isn’t superduper fast yet but she’s crawling. She puts one knee down and one foot down and does a scoot. Her motivation is dog food. She see’s Mo’s dish and water at her level and that is where she heads constantly. We have fished her out of the water and food stinking of the offensive substance countless times. I think I may move it outside. Last night I even got a piece of dog food out of her mouth. She still won’t pick up food from her high chair tray and eat it but she will pop those nasty little tidbits in her mouth fast enough. At least it’s not toxic, in fact, I hear it is rather nutritious.
For those dog lovers out there that can’t understand my consternation for the little black creature that dwells with us, let me expound on his last caper. Mo is forbidden from the second level of our home. In our last home he had a bad habit of desimating Serra’s toys and getting into my sewing drawer and eating pins. Yes, he is a very good climber. We tried keeping him locked up downstairs even at night for the first month here but he barked incessantly. Very annoying. So we moved his cage upstairs and started letting him SLEEP ONLY in his cage in the closet. It has been working out rather well. He would come up with us either when Serra, Rosie, or we went to bed, get locked up, and then downstairs he went with the first riser the next morning. A few nights ago he followed Brian and Serra up for Serra’s bedtime and Brian lost track of him. He figured Mo and gone back downstairs with me. But NO, he was hiding, biding his time until the coast was clear. Brian was busy reading Serra a story and going through the bedtime ritual and when he was done he found Mo waiting by his cage. So, he locked him up. It wasn’t until I went to bed a few hours later that I found the puddle. ON MY BED! The dog had climbed up there peed on my pillows and then waited to be put to bed. I was so mad I couldn’t even go to sleep. Brian just doesn’t understand why Mo insists on doing bad things. I think he is evil.
In the mean time, the stolen check saga continues. The bank won’t cover the checks, the police are in the process of an investigation, and yesterday Brian got a call from a collection agency working for Stamps By Mail, for the bounced check. Yes, the business has been sent to collections. Isn’t this fun!
Yesterday Serra was rifling through her toy box and found her sunglasses. “I was looking for these! My sunbeam glasses!”
She also asked me this morning if she put both the Lilo and Stitch DVD and the Toy Story DVD in the player and the same time if there would be a movie with Woody, Lilo, and Stitch. Sounds slightly logical.

There are some portions of your tales that we would rather just read about… there are others that we have missed forever with great sadness… e/s pc
I think the weather in Vegas is always nice OUTSIDE for sleeping dogs . . . . the food will be there soon anyway, right?
I like dogs and all but . . . Christian had his fill of dog food too at Aunt Carolyn’s. Who knows how much he ate of it but he seemed to like it. nasty.
While I can’t defend Mo’s actions…he sure is cute when he sleeps. -B
Yes but a poster of a dog is cute all the time, and you change exchange those for a new one when you want a different cute, and you don’t deal with the trouble!
Bring Mo over here on holiday. You can hire a professional dog wok-er. I think I have been served that this week!
Another reason we don’t have a dog. They are tempting when you don’t own one but I will continue to resist. Your stories help.
I will continue to voice my strong objection that anyone with small children avoid the temptation. I think it would have been better if the kids were all over age 5. Mom was smart about that, I should have heeded the warning. Live and learn.
I’ve got the perfect situation–next door neighbors with two dogs that are available to be taken for walks and played with by my children. I think its kind of like grandchildren–all the fun with very little mess or work on my part. ~b
