  • Excellent… good luck in the attic… e/s/pc

  • I love it! What a great home. Congratulations! Have fun decorating it!

  • Wonderful!  Congratulations!  Here’s to a successful closing of your Santa Paula property!  ~G

  • Do you have a ZIP code to go along with that? Pass along your phone number too when you’ve got it. I’m trying to keep the BFAM directory up-to-date for the annual reunion distribution. ~ b

  • So what ever happened to the termite story? Did they revise the report or are you having to replace the entire attic? -d

  • Is it Sparkling Creek Ave? We looked it up on Mapquest – is it clear out on the way to Mt. Charleston?  along with the awesome streets of pitch fork, water bucket, and happy stream ave? Gotta love las vegas street names!! Looks great! Congratulations! We’re way excited for you guys!! looking forward to actual pictures.

  • The care package made our whole month!  Thanks!!!!!!!

  • Doh!  First mission care package is a major point scorer.  The rest of us are going to have to work double time now!

I remember back in the day when Pam sent me innumerable care packages to the great jealousy encitement of my companions.  Pam, I wouldn’t mind, you know, if you sent one my way every so often nowadays either  ~g

  • Termite story is ongoing….we ended up knowing (he’s 1st counseler in our bishopric) a manager at the offending company.  He came out and walked through the report with us and assured us that we wouldn’t have to peel off the roof.  He did however confirm that we did in fact have termite damage and that we’d have to repair the parts indicated.   As it stands, I’ve got about 2 days worth of work and $1000 in treatment to get rid of the pesky critters!

Another story altogether is the home warranty inspecter.  He was the spawn of the devil and produced a 15 page report full of false information (we paid $100 already to a plumber to dispell the notion that our water heater was out of code).  I’m petrified he’s scared the buyer to death…but as of right now we’re still a go (keeping fingers and toes crossed).

  • I guess the “inspector” was one of those guys who figures he is not doing his job if he doesn’t find things to complains about… justifying his pay or existance, you know.  You should have an “inspector” and write a 150 page report on all the things that are right about the place.

  • I would go on the offense.  If you can show all the things he said were wrong, I would then hand him the bills he caused to dispell his incorrect report.

  • We certainly went on the offensive with the plumber as I knew he was wrong there. As for the rest of the report, it is full of stupid suggestions like “Put bumpers in your garage so that your car hits the bumpers rather than the Washer/Dryer.” mixed in with more damaging suggestions like “bubbling on exterior of dryer vent may be caused by MOLD.” The dreaded M word…and totaly unfounded at that.  You’d think if the buyer backed out we could have some damages here??

Anyhow, still waiting to get the “list” from the buyer in regards to items from the inspection they’d like addressed.  The fact that they got the report Wednesday and haven’t submitted their list to us yet has me a little worried…then again, I’m a tad stressed with everything else going on so I’m probably just being a Nervous Nellie.

Tracey…you’ve got the right Sparkling Creek.  It’s beautiful out there.  Close to Floyd Lamb State Park and the 215/95 interchange.

  • Just found the top of your new house on Google Earth. Amazing. I grew up in a house on Coran Lane just off of N Rancho Road and we were on the edge of civilization then. The State Park is named for a cousin of my mother’s–he served as a state senator and county commissioner. His brother, Ralph, was the Clark County Sherrif back in the olden days. ~ b

  • Yeah…it’s amazing the growth that’s happening here in Vegas.  When my family moved here in ’90 that whole area was 15-20 minutes out of town and now it’s building all the way out to the Mt. Charleston turnoff on ’95.  That’s interesting about Floyd Lamb….it used to be called Tule Springs I think.  We actually went to the park today after church to check it out….very nice facility except for the fact that it’s right next to an outdoor gun range.  Nothing like the sounds of shotguns going off as you’re enjoying a family picnic.

  • Update…we got the list from the buyer and it’s doable….nothing major.  Things are looking up!

  • Good to hear the list is doable.  The next two months are going to be a whirlwind for you guys.  Hang on and enjoy the ride! ~g
