  • Title?

Well, our house is still on the market.  We are a bit suprised but
still feel confindent we can sell this place.  We may drop the
price slightly next week if it comes to that.

We spent Saturday morning running errands and then spent the rest of
the day at the Arnell cousins for Jacobs birthday party.  Serra
has a little to learn about game playing.  I’m glad to have had
the kids around the past few years so Serra gets that good
interaction.  Sunday was our Stake Conference and we are convinced
that it is broadcast from the prophets basement.  It didn’t look
like a real church pulpit.  It was a little weird having Stake
Conference that way and difficult for Serra to sit still in the dark
for 2 hours.  The messages were good though.  We relaxed the
    rest of the day.

We are headed to Vegas today until next Monday.  Brian will spend
his time working his business there and us girls will just hang out and
enjoy ourselves.  I wish we could get serious about house hunting,
but until we go into escrow it’s not happening.

Sophia is growing way too fast.  I weighed her yesterday and she
is at 18 lbs.  She is out of the 3-6 month clothes and is well
into the 6-9 month variety.  We didn’t even get to wear some of
Serra’s hand me downs.  She is quite the giggler and talker as
well.  We can get her talking for 10-20 minutes at a time.
She just goes on and on without taking a break.  It’s very
cute.  I love her blue eyes.

Serra is keeping the pace as well and we are having a hard time keeping
her clothed.  She grows out of things before I am ready to go
shopping again.  It’s all up and she is getting very tall.
She is quite the princess and loves to wear dresses everyday.  She
is very used to having Rosie around and doesn’t mind letting her have
her old things anymore.  She loves to hold her and play with her
hair.  I am always amazed when I look at her.  She is so
beautiful.  She tells me daily how much she misses grandma and
    grandpa in Basas

I have pictures and I will process them when we get back.

  • I guess I better get this down before too much time passes.  I am feeling a little swamped.  We have two open houses this week, one for brokers and one for realtors and I really want everything to look finished and sparkling.  I rented a small storage unit and have been packing excess things we don’t need in the next little while.  I am de-cluttering even more than I already have.  I took down my huge work table with all the scrapbook stuff and reoranized Serra’s room so it looks tidier.  The book shelves are cleared with just a few knick-knacks.  Today I am going to do some touch up painting.  Tomorrow I will clean again until I fall over.  Then we need to leave so it stays that way.  Next week we are headed to Vegas.  I really hoped this place would sell quicker.  Keeping it looking perfect all the time is a real hassle.

Last week after Disneyland it was back to reality.  Thursday we had dinner in Calabasas.  It was a leftover extravaganza.  Sunday we met again for about an hour before the open house for Mom and Dad and sat around soaking it all in.  We had the kids sing “Grandma and Grandpa are going away on a mission” and it was a smash hit.  The open house was amazing.  There were so many people there.  The Colletts have a huge house and all the well wishers filled the back yard and house.  Even the Ruthwood neighbors showed.  I felt like it was a farewell for us too.  Since we don’t have any reason now to visit So Cal once we leave, this may be the last time I see many of those people.  We had the kids do a repeat on the song and they got a standing ovation.  (everyone was already standing, but still)  After the open house we went back to Mom and Dads and witnessed the setting apart.  They were both given wonderful blessings along with their callings.  I felt priveleged to be a part of it.

Monday we just had to gather one more time.  This time we met at Gary and Liesls.  Leisl did a great dinner and fancy Valentine dessert and the kids played hard until most had cried at least once from one injury or another.  Both nights were very late as we just didn’t want them to end.  I think we didn’t leave until after 10pm.

I took Brian into work on Tuesday and so I of course had to stop by Mom and Dads.  What a rock in the pit of my stomach that was seeing an enormous moving truck out front.  I lingered for about an hour.  Serra and Grandpa played a game with a little metal washer for a while,  we gave last hugs and I drove away.  It is sad to think Sophia will be walking the next time we see them.  Serra will be 4 1/2.   I know it is only a year but things will be so different when the mission is done.  That is what makes this good bye so hard.  Things have been ideal the last few years being so close.  We have really loved it.  Serra cried last night that she missed her Grandma and Grandpa that are on a mission.  I hope someday we will live close by again.

  • First off…got me a much needed haircut and took off 5 inches.  Feels better.  I think my Serra takes after her Aunt Serra.

    Yesterday…Disneyland!

What a great day.  I am afraid I have caught a bug.  A Disney bug that is.  I think Brian may have caught it too since we are thinking of extending our stay an extra day in Orlando for our big trip in April.

We met up with the cousins at California adventure and spent the first half of the day there.  Good times.  A lot of the fun is watching the kids having such a great time but that doesn’t mean we didn’t have a great time too.  The atmospere is wonderful and the day was perfect.  We hit the main attractions and then headed over to Disneyland for the remainder of the day.  It was even more fun than last time and that is saying alot.  With the purchase of Brian’s ticket we have another free day for an adult so we may just have to go again soon.

Here we are in A Bugs Land

  • The camera came a week ago and we have had lots of fun.  We spent Sunday in Calabasas with the family and what a treat it was to be in church and get to hear both Mom and Dad’s testimonies.  It was a beautiful day all around.
