  • Serra has still been struggling to kick this bug although it has manifested itself on the opposite end.  She seems much more solid today and hopefully is on the road to being 100%.  She has been sleeping a lot more over the past few days and I must admit I lay right down with her and snooze myself.  It helps me stay awake with Brian later at night.

The flash for my camera came yesterday and I have been experimenting with it to get the best possible results.  (Note to Julie:  I can take pictures in the dark and inside the house with out problems now)

I learned a trick as well.  When you use a flash and it points directly at the subject you always get harsh shadows behind then.  I found that if you point the flash upward and bounce it off the ceiling or the wall behind them you get a really nice effect and no shadows behind them.  I’m still working at it and reading up on how to get the best results but here are some pictures we took yesterday.

Here is an example of the bounce flash.  The first pictures has the flash pointed directly at Serra.  The second one is bounced off the ceiling.

I tried the bounce flash in the dark and it makes it more subdued and the background disappears completely.

You can tell which ones I used the flash with even outside in fairly good light.
