Beans, Beans, the musical fruit…
A few weeks ago I canned pinto beans. Last week I decided to add kidney beans to the collection. I decided on how many kidney beans to prepare based on how much the pinto beans had expanded, which was about twice as large as the dry product. So I started with what I expected to be about 14 quarts, give or take, but they kept expanding, and expanding, and EXPANDING, until they had quadrupled in size. I had all my pots bubbling over with the product on all four burners. I stopped counting after 35 quarts. Chile anyone. If we end up dipping into our food storage on a large basis, we will definitely be the most musical family in the state.
A few weeks ago our video camera gave us the shaft. So we did an little research and found a cute little Sony digital. When we have the capability to DVD write on our computer we will be able to transfer the tapes directly to DVD. I wanted to post a few stills I took of Serra pouting but our lovely PC refuses to recognize the existence of the camera no matter how many times I introduce the two. So until we figure out the trouble the still camera will do.
I think I may have fixed our internet troubles. I may be able to post more if it keeps working as well as it is now. The end.

Wow! Your preparedness is inspiring. That looks like a lot of hard work. I’m working on making softcopies of histories of my progenitors. I was just going over part that explained how “During the summer and fall months of the year, it was an absolute necessity that we preserve, can and dry every mouth full of food that we would need during the winter months.” Guess you know a little about what that is like. ~b
Love to see the next generation with incredible traction in the right direction… press on… pc
You’ll never find me canning food…well, I shouldn’t say never, but I have no desire.

… you’re not kidding… we used to have to BAN advertisements from the dinner table. We should have been paid by companies providing products for the abuse we took…. OVER and OVER and OVER… at dinner time… no wonder we couldn’t wait to get them in bed! pc
Is it a band… or a army? They seem to be kissing.

You have an amazing memory Jeff.. you know you should put anything you have to study to song. You could “A”ce any test. You might want to ask to be tested in a room all to yourself or the other students might rebel with your constant bursting into song. Just a thought.. mom
Twelve comments on an entry about beans? In any case, if your family’s “musical” experiences are going to increase it’s probably best that there are a few miles of open space between us. ~G
Time for a update.
