Month: February 2005

  • Our computer is not working with the Internet so I am doing this at Mom and Dads.  We have pretty much just been plugging along around here.  We made a trip with the cousins to the zoo on Friday in between the rain.  It was a beautiful day and the kids had a good time.  Serra has decided that hats are the thing now and so I made her a few.  Here are some pictures from February.  Today Mo turned 1 year old.

Happy Valentines Day.  Roses for Pam and Serra from Brian, and a cookie bouquet for Brian from the girls.

Mo got a hamburger for his birthday.  He kept trying to get at it without burning his nose.

  • After two trips to Urgent care we are all on the mend and feeling 1000X better.  Antibiotics did the trick within days for Brian and I and Serra cleared up on her own.  We are so glad to be on the side of the living.

The song went off without a hitch.  I was skeptical knowing the notes included an A above high C: something I haven’t had much luck with since Serra’s birth.  But I did it without a crack.  Maybe it takes not being able to breath through your nose to get in touch with that register after a long absence.  I don’t know.  It was a great weekend with 3 meetings featuring Sister Okasaki.

I just E-filed our tax return using the Kirby recommended TaxCut and let me tell you….major payoff.  We are getting more back then we paid.  What a boon as Liesl would say.  Julie and Jared, enjoy the benifits of the additional child tax credit.

As of Valentines day we didn’t know what our tax return would look like so I made the decision to cook a nice candlelight dinner instead of eating out which we usually do.  I also made Brian a bouquet of “cookies”.  He sent Serra~V~ and I two dozen red roses that arrived that morning.  They are still beautiful and I am reminded how much we are loved every time I see them.  With them came a balloon on a stick which Serra knew instantly to be hers and she carts it around and beats Mo with it.  I will post pictures someday.

  • Well, the surgery was a success but the pregnancy was short lived.  I guess we jumped the gun in sharing the news but it is really hard to keep it to ourselves when we have been through so much to get to that point.     (I know others relate out there)  Anyway I suspected something was not right on Sunday and went into my doc for some blood tests on Monday which confirmed our worst suspicions.  We are optimistic though that we will be able to start over very soon.  Hopefully we will have better luck next time.  I’m not taking it as hard as last time.  Serra is a big part of that.  I just tell her I need a big hug and she comes over and squeezes me tight and says.  “Big hug.”

Serra has started saying prayers by herself.  It is very sweet.  Sometimes she forgets to begin it properly but she tells Heavenly Father all about her day in minute detail and then ends it properly.  On food blessings instead of asking to bless the food she tells him what we are having.

I ended up at Urgent Care last night for bronchitis. I was getting better last weekend and then I relapsed.  I have had this before and without antibiotics it can go on for months.  I am not up for that, especially since I am singing on Sunday in our meeting with Chieko Okasaki.  I wanted to participate in this trio and I am the only soprano.  Hopefully these meds will to the trick.  Serra is not doing so hot either.  I may end up taking her in if her cough gets any worse.
