I have to type quick because sitting isn’t much of an option for me right now. I have really done it this time. It is the 3rd time in less than a year and this time is by far the worst. It’s all quite asinine really and happens when I am cold and wear socks in the house. My foot comes down on the step and slips out from under me and I go down hard right on my tail bone. The first time we were at one of Brian’s friends house in LV and I was carrying Serra and I lost my footing and thudded down the stairs. Talk about embarrassing and painful. I have barely recovered from that one this past month. (To where I could do some of the Pilates exercises with out yelping in pain) The second time was a few months ago when I was carrying laundry out to the garage. I slipped on the Pergo stairs this time and bruised up my hip and arm nicely but luckily didn’t land on my tailbone.
Last night was the kicker. The common denominators. Socks. Stairs. Carrying something. Second step down out goes my foot and down I go. HARD. I just sat there on Serra’s brownie crying for a minute. Sweetly Serra was more concerned about me than her brownie. Then when I assured her I was OK she cried out, “MY TREAT”! Yes Brian was concerned too and helped me to the couch and cleaned up the carnage on the stairs. I cannot sit comfortably and am sporting a bruise to go with what I believe to be a re-broken tailbone. Seriously, I barely slept last night because even laying down puts pressure on my derriere. So much for Pilates, sitting in church, sewing, or writing anymore here for that matter. I’d show you a picture, butt…well…you get the picture.

So, so sorry to hear of your sad tail, ah, tale… we will pray for you… pc
I still think I photo is a good idea.
No way Pam, that totally bites. Let me know if I can be of any help. I’ll call tomorrow to see if you need Serra V. help. POOR PAM!
The least you could do is post a photo of the brownie…
Ouch! I sure admire your ability to report on this tragedy with a touch of humor. I suppose your days of wearing slippery socks has come to an end. It’s hard enough to rear a family without all these accidents! I suppose you’ll get to the bottom of it sooner or later. ~G
Ouch! I feel your pain Pam. One time while Jeff and I were dating he was giving me a piggy back ride down the stairs and you guessed it, he slipped and down I went. Hope you are healed by Thanksgiving!–maren
We don’t have any stairs, except for the one-inch thing at our doorstep.~Joseph ARNELL!!!
Grandma once gave me socks with rubber zig-zags on the bottom for traction (they are supposed to be slippers). May be a good investment. Ballet classes may also be a good investment…!
Gary… your comment was shameless… as per usual! pc
I sat here for several minutes trying to come up with a butt joke, butt I couldn’t think of any…
pam..i just was able to read your site..I am sooo sorry! I hope it doesnt take too long to heal. Enjoy thanksgiving!
idea for the future. Since sock wearing is a habit and stairs are readily available in the home, perhaps a pair of padded spandex or simply affix a pillow with a belt. Your worries would be gone.
