  • Saturday Brian and I decided we wanted to spend the afternoon at the temple with our stake and so Mom graciously took on the responsibility of Serra for the Day with David helping out tremendously as well.  I didn’t know it at the time but the “tuzzins”  we going to be there for the same reason.  Serra was in pure heaven and didn’t even bother to say goodbye to us.  She immediatly found her buddies and was gone.  She sure loves her cousins, especially Jacob.  She used to have a hard time displaying her affection in a way that didn’t make Jacob cry but has since learned that hugs work better than a bonk on the head with something hard.  She talks about Jacob constantly and asks to play with her cousins at least once a day.  She even recognizes the exit off the freeway to thier home.  Curse the day I take that exit for any other reason.

We had a nice time at the temple and attended a full session for the first time at the LA Temple.  We usually go during the week when it is slower.  Every seat was taken this day and some even had to wait for the next session.  (Not a short wait)  And the session following had to wait for ours to finish as well before they could finish.  We were able to attend our stakes chapel session as well.

We got back to Calabasas at 6pm and waited a few minutes until David came in with Serra~V~.  He took her to the Shisley party and said he had a hard time figuring out her seat belt.  (It is a bit challanging, to keep active 2 year old minds from figuring it out)  I’m glad to know David was smart enough.  He will be a great Dad someday.  Look at all the practice he gets.

Serra is (blessed day) potty trained.  She made it the whole day at Grandma’s and church without incident.  She still has a little trouble getting her pant back on and embarrased the missionaries a few days back while we ate dinner.  I will buy one more package of diapers which she still wears at night and my goal is to have her night trained by the time those are gone.  I think that gives me about 3 months.

SV talks up a storm constantly and sings a lot as well.  She informed me recently that Mo was naked.  I was a little suprised to hear her say that.  It is amazing what she picks up and applies.  She gets very excited when we are driving to see “erpanes, toppers, and kanes” (airplanes, helecopters, and cranes used in construction)  She yells quite loudly, “erpane, MOMMY erpane”.  Until I acknowlage the plane which is sometimes so tiny and far away it is nearly impossible to locate, she keeps it up.  At least we know her eyes are good.

She is counting now although it is usually “1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 14″  We are working on the missing numbers.  Colors are nearly all down as well.  She informs the sun is “onge”  and sky is “boo”  bananas are “lellow”.

I will post pictures next time but I don’t have any ready to go right now.
