  • Thankyou for all the painful butt prudent comments.

T-day week-end was really nice with everyone here.  It was especially nice to get to know Darci a little better and see her and Doug react to each other.

For readers not present we spent Thursday through Saturday pretty much just hanging out and watching the boys fight over world domination (Risk).  The food and company were pleasant and I’d do it all again.  Brian was in great need of the few days off and he got caught up on some rest and was ready for work this morning for the return of all the vacationers.  Since almost all you were there I’ll just post pictures.

At Leo Carillo.  A bit on the chilly side.  Just ask Doug or Darci who also learned how unpredictable the tides can be.

Look at the freaky ghost hand in the glass.  Don’t know who’s it is or why it is glowing.

Look at the naked adoration in SV’s face.  She talks about Darci constantly.  She asked me if Darci was sleeping when we woke up one morning.  She also pretends to have phone conversations with her.  How does it feel to be adored so, Darci?

SV also adores her tuzzin Jacob.  Here he is reading a story to her as she puts her arm around him and plays with his ear.  He kept flipping her hand away.  And of course, the new dress.

Three little girl cousins sitting in chairs their size.

Many smiling faces before the great feast.  And of course we had an awesome kidlet table.

    6 grandkids.

    You should be in pictures.

Fun in the leaves.  Play, jump, eat, whatever…

  • I have to type quick because sitting isn’t much of an option for me right now.  I have really done it this time.  It is the 3rd time in less than a year and this time is by far the worst.  It’s all quite asinine really and happens when I am cold and wear socks in the house.  My foot comes down on the step and slips out from under me and I go down hard right on my tail bone.  The first time we were at one of Brian’s friends house in LV and I was carrying Serra and I lost my footing and thudded down the stairs.  Talk about embarrassing and painful.  I have barely recovered from that one this past month.  (To where I could do some of the Pilates exercises with out yelping in pain)  The second time was a few months ago when I was carrying laundry out to the garage.  I slipped on the Pergo stairs this time and bruised up my hip and arm nicely but luckily didn’t land on my tailbone.

Last night was the kicker.  The common denominators.  Socks.  Stairs.  Carrying something.  Second step down out goes my foot and down I go.  HARD.  I just sat there on Serra’s brownie crying for a minute.  Sweetly Serra was more concerned about me than her brownie.  Then when I assured her I was OK she cried out, “MY TREAT”!  Yes Brian was concerned too and helped me to the couch and cleaned up the carnage on the stairs.  I cannot sit comfortably and am sporting a bruise to go with what I believe to be a re-broken tailbone.  Seriously,  I barely slept last night because even laying down puts pressure on my derriere.  So much for Pilates, sitting in church, sewing, or writing anymore here for that matter.  I’d show you a picture, butt…well…you get the picture.

  • Saturday Brian and I decided we wanted to spend the afternoon at the temple with our stake and so Mom graciously took on the responsibility of Serra for the Day with David helping out tremendously as well.  I didn’t know it at the time but the “tuzzins”  we going to be there for the same reason.  Serra was in pure heaven and didn’t even bother to say goodbye to us.  She immediatly found her buddies and was gone.  She sure loves her cousins, especially Jacob.  She used to have a hard time displaying her affection in a way that didn’t make Jacob cry but has since learned that hugs work better than a bonk on the head with something hard.  She talks about Jacob constantly and asks to play with her cousins at least once a day.  She even recognizes the exit off the freeway to thier home.  Curse the day I take that exit for any other reason.

We had a nice time at the temple and attended a full session for the first time at the LA Temple.  We usually go during the week when it is slower.  Every seat was taken this day and some even had to wait for the next session.  (Not a short wait)  And the session following had to wait for ours to finish as well before they could finish.  We were able to attend our stakes chapel session as well.

We got back to Calabasas at 6pm and waited a few minutes until David came in with Serra~V~.  He took her to the Shisley party and said he had a hard time figuring out her seat belt.  (It is a bit challanging, to keep active 2 year old minds from figuring it out)  I’m glad to know David was smart enough.  He will be a great Dad someday.  Look at all the practice he gets.

Serra is (blessed day) potty trained.  She made it the whole day at Grandma’s and church without incident.  She still has a little trouble getting her pant back on and embarrased the missionaries a few days back while we ate dinner.  I will buy one more package of diapers which she still wears at night and my goal is to have her night trained by the time those are gone.  I think that gives me about 3 months.

SV talks up a storm constantly and sings a lot as well.  She informed me recently that Mo was naked.  I was a little suprised to hear her say that.  It is amazing what she picks up and applies.  She gets very excited when we are driving to see “erpanes, toppers, and kanes” (airplanes, helecopters, and cranes used in construction)  She yells quite loudly, “erpane, MOMMY erpane”.  Until I acknowlage the plane which is sometimes so tiny and far away it is nearly impossible to locate, she keeps it up.  At least we know her eyes are good.

She is counting now although it is usually “1, 2, 4, 8, 9, 10, 14″  We are working on the missing numbers.  Colors are nearly all down as well.  She informs the sun is “onge”  and sky is “boo”  bananas are “lellow”.

I will post pictures next time but I don’t have any ready to go right now.

  • I found a disc with pictures I forgot about from October.

We went to a dog park and Mo found a friend.

Picking out a pumpkin and getting pretty for church.

  • I thought about posting wedding pictures but it takes a long time to choose, shrink, and post them them. If I get really industrious I will otherwise I will just print them up and have them handy at T-day.

I had a Dr. appt. this week where I found out that among my other issues I have multiple polyps in my uterus.  So Dec. 3rd I will have surgery where they will be removed.  At the same time I will have the ovarian drilling done.  Both these things will hopefully enable us to have more children.  I won’t go into detail about this stuff but we are opptomistic that this is our best (only) option at this point.

  • We’re glad it’s finally over with and that Mr. Kerry isn’t taking any trips to the White House.  It’s not so much that Bush was the guy as much as Kerry absolutely wasn’t.  At the risk of discussing politics (and beating the proverbial dead horse), we’ll leave it at that.
