  • Finally…here they are!

I think this bottom one looks like a kindergarten picture. She’s growing up too fast!

Life is good for us down here in Los Angeles.  Yesterday, Jan. 31st, the weather was over 90 degrees but today it’s back down to a comfortable 75.  The weather is great down here and the traffic problems are avoidable for the most part.  I should hear within the next week whether I am accepted to Pepperdine for the Summer semester or not.  If I’m not I’ll need to retake the GMAT and apply for Fall (something I REALLY don’t want to have to go through).  Serra is still getting over her Christmas sickness that included two ear infections and swollen tonsils. We thought she was completely recovered after her dose of antibiotics was through because she was being so good but when she went in for her shots it was discovered that the ear infections were still around.  She’s so good she doesn’t throw a fit unless she’s really feeling horrible.  Anyhow, you can tell by the pictures that she hasn’t lost any cuteness.

  • What is wrong with this thing?

  • Here is our little Raiderette.  She wore her duds to church and was a hot topic of conversation.  A little controversial at times.  I am a widow today.

This other one is for Adriane.  Raiderette pets cat that looks like Jabba.

  • Finally downloading.  Here is the boogus yesterday at one of her photo shoots.  Yes, she is standing on her own.

Oops!  I forgot to flip it in editing.

I know…it’s not Halloween.  Explaination then?  Grandmas dress-up box…wigs and all.  I think they had fun

    She loves the swings

  • Well, sometimes it is not good for the wallet to have such a cute baby.  We went to Picture People and while we waited for those to be developed we went to JcPenney.  Anyway every single shot turned out and I even had to turn some down.  Xanga is not cooperating lately and I haven’t been able to post any pictures for a few days.  As soon as I can I will put up the cuteness.

  • Yesterday was really fun.  David and Barbara and their clan showed up in the afternoon and we met Gary and Liesl and crew at Leo Carrillo.  The tide pools are really low so we were able to see all sorts of good stuff.  (including and octopus)  Joseph and Jessica got a little to brave and were taken under by a wave and were soaked and shivering.  Thank goodness for their prepared moms who had changes of clothes for them.  It was a beautiful afternoon with no wind and calm waters and mild temperatures.

Serra~V~ continues to improve and loved all the kids around yesterday.  I had her out front in her walker yesterday afternoon and she spotted a little girl riding her bike across the street.  She squealed and took off like a rocket toward the street.  She loves little kids and can tell the difference even in teenage kids.

Brian and I were accepted into the Calabasas Ward this afternoon and were invited to speak as well.  I think they went well. It was nice to have Grandma taking care of Serra for us.  We were also issued callings.  Brian will be serving in the Young Men’s Organization as second counselor and I will help with the music in Sacrament meetings and with the Ward news letter.  So there you have it.  Now for what you really want.  Pictures.

  • Two entries in one day…I’m catching up for lost time.  We decided the best medicine for Serra~V~ today was some fresh air.  She loves the swings.  For those not in California, she is standing now.  She may just skip crawling all together.  She takes two crawl steps at a time and then collapses in frustration and lays on the floor with her face in the carpet and cries.  She can scoot backward but that is really frustrating too because she is trying to move forward.  However, she can stand for indefinite period while holding on with one hand and can even bend over and pick something up and stand back up.  What talent!

  • Poor, Poor baby~V~.

Last week was really awful.  This week started out that way too.  Poor little baby was so sick and cried all the time.  She tried so hard to be happy but really wasn’t feeling well.  We finally broke down on Monday and took her to an Urgent Care center to find that she indeed has 2 ear infections and tonsillitis.  No wonder she has been up all night for so many weeks.  Anyway, she has been on antibiotics for 4 days now and is a new child.  Our happy baby is returning finally.  She still has nasal blowouts often and the meds give her other problems that manifested itself 3 times in the bathtub yesterday, but I think she is on the mend for real this time.

I have spent more time than I care to on getting the cars registered and insured here.  The process is slow because we need new drivers licenses.  To get drivers licenses we nee birth certificates.  Brian doesn’t have his here so we have to wait until we get one.  Then we have to make an appointment.  The first available isn’t until the end of the month.  I never want to move again.  At least out of state.  It is such a hassle and cost too much money.

Brian has been in the process of applying  for Pepperdine and I haven’t heard otherwise so I assume it is in the mail.  He spent the last week composing essays and applications.  It is truly a process.

Here is Serra.  She fell asleep in her walker a few weeks ago.  Now that is pure exhaustion.  The other was taken Monday night when she still felt really awful

  • Ok, so I kind of cheated on yesterdays photo.  It was taken before Christmas, but you all got the idea.  Here are a few taken at the same time to make you feel better.

Brian is on his way home right now and we will be so glad to have him back.  It is his birthday today and so he is looking forward to being spoiled.  Don’t worry, I always treat him right, no matter what kind of abuse stories he comes up with.

     Happy Birthday you old geeser!

  • Well, the cold is still hanging on for poor Serra~V~ and I think she may be teething as well.  She is just not herself today.  She has not stopped crying all day.  It is very sad.

Brian is in Las Vegas seeing Holly and picking up all our junk.  We will see him today or tomorrow.  It depends on how long it takes to get everything put together.
