Month: November 2002

  • It is now officially too late to send your memories to me.  I will be off line until T-day.  They are printed and ready for sharing.  If you still want to contribute make ten copies of your own for the rest of us.  If I had more time I would pass out awards for funniest, scariest, most embarrassing experiences, etc.  There are some doozies.  See ya’ll Wednesday night.

  • Mom, Dad, Dave, and Dallas.  I am waiting for your entries so I can put them in the memories collection.  There will come a time in the near future that I will be disconnecting my computer and will not be able to add them.  So please start tickling the key board.  You really want to be a part this year.  There are some stories I am hearing for the first time.  It’s great.

Here is Serra~V~ at her 7 month photo session on Saturday.  I was good and only got the free sheets offered.  Sorry, no copies.  I will have to scan them if anyone wants one.

  • It is official.  Brian walked out the door this morning with letter of resignation in hand.  Typically, Enterprise lets the quitting person leave that day.  However, with the holidays approaching, they won’t be able to interview for his position until after, which means Brian will have to finish out the month.  His last day will be the 27th, the day before Thanksgiving.   We have been working fast and furious at trying to complete the many undone things in the house, and on top of that, Brian takes the GMAT next Thursday.  Not much time for dilly-dally.

The master bathroom is finally complete, custom tile and all.  The squeaky step squeaks no more.  The hole above the kitchen sink is patched and will soon be textured and painted.  The hole in the downstairs ceiling will soon be textured and painted as well.  The house is immaculate at all times which is really a pain for me.  Especially since Serra~V~ loves a mess.  She is fascinated by the kitchen garbage and as soon as I put her in the walker, she scoots right over to it and tips it over.

More about Serra~V~ while I’m here.  She is quite adept at getting where she wants not by using the rolling method.  I put her in the middle of the carpet in the living room the other day and when I peeked in on her, she was gone.  I found her on the Pergo over by the closet.  Sometimes she gets wedged places and gets mad because she hasn’t figured out that she can’t roll through solid objects.  Just now she was playing with a golf ball and it got away.  She rolled until she got to it.  Now it is pushed forward, and she can’t move forward very well so she is mad.

Mom and Dad Arnell:  We will most likely head down the day before T-day.  As far as moving everything, that will have to wait.  If the house sells we will most likely have until the end of December while it is in escrow.  So in the mean time we will use it as storage.  We will bring some stuff down, whatever fits into the cars anyway.  Everything will be packed up and ready to go, hopefully, before we come.  I sure hope this place sells.  We have had many calls but no lookers yet.  I hope this weekend brings ‘em round.

  • Today is the 15th.  Mom and Dad, you have to do this too, you know.  Gary, Dallas,  Julie, Jared, David. I’m waiting.

Here is the girl bambino snoozing away just moments ago.  Big time bed head.

  • Thankyou, Liesl, Doug and Serra for your prompt entries.  They are great.  Looking forward to the rest.

  • Doug has his entry in and I must say it is a doozy.  I laughed until I cried.  Oh the humanity!

Reminder on the topic: An embarrassing dating experience, or if all you had were wonderful dating experiences, we don’t want to know about those.  Just kidding, you can also write about the best or worst day you can think of.

  • Friendly Reminder

You all have 1 week from today to send me your memories.  I am extremely busy trying to get things wrapped up here to move, sell a house,  do photography jobs, and all when baby is napping.  So, getting them to me by the 15th is imperative to give me enough time to put them together.

    Thank you,

    Memories Producer 2002

  • In answer to Mom’s question: Yes, I voted, weeks ago.  I am happy to report that question 2, protecting marriage passed again by 70%, about the same as last time.  Now it will finally be put into the Nevada Constitution.  I wonder what all those sign defacers will say now that they know that a great majority of this state does not agree with them.  Question 9: Making marijuana legal for personal use in one’s own home did not pass, thank goodness.  The argument for it contradicted itself.  RESPONSIBLE adults would be able to use and be in possession of 3 oz. of the weed.  As far as I’m concerned, responsible adults don’t smoke marijuana.  Anyway, I am very pleased with the way things went here.  All the station casinos had the buffets free for those that voted.  We found out about it after the lines were already 3 hours long.  We used a free dinner from Enterprise and ate at a fancy place called Bull Shrimp.  It was pricey and tasty.  They even had table clothes.  They didn’t bring us hot towels though like a place we ate at in NYC a few years back.  That was cool.  You are supposed to wipe your hands with them, but Brian and I wiped our faces cause we were grimy from walking around all day.  You can dress us up but you can’t take us out.  Anyway, we both enjoyed fine cuts of steak.

Serra~V~ must be in a growth spurt.  She has spent the majority of the day sleeping.  I am nearly caught up on all the scrapbooks.  I intend on finishing this week.  I need to think about packing some things.  Well off to cook dinner for my starving husband who is due home in an hour or so.  White chile is on the menu tonight.

  • Friday I had a picture taking gig.  It went well, especially since there were four young kids.  I am always a little nervous until the pictures come in though because  if they didn’t turn out, doing a reshoot is really a pain.  It will be nice when Serra~V~ is old enough to be my assistant.  Right now she makes a good pack mule (stroller)  but it would be nice to be able to use a reflector and have someone else making goo goo faces while I have my face in the lens.

Dwaine is back from the cabin.  It seems he barely made it off the mountain with all the snow but it is a relief for everyone here that he is done up there.  Amy Jo’s boyfriend, Dave, got his mission call to Mexico City and leaves on the 29th of January.  We are really excited for him.  He’s excited too.  He still comes over to the Andersons for Sunday dinner even though Amy Jo is at BYU.  We enjoy his company.  Good kid.

I got a roll of film developed and here are some tidbits.

    Loving to eat.

Toe touching and just waking up with a crazy doo.

Katrina and Joseph at Granny and Gramps.

    Fine eyes and 2 teeth.

Grandpa G and Serra V  at the cabin.

Serra just cut two more teeth this afternoon.  Interestingly enough it is her fangs not the two top teeth.  Should make for some interesting photos.

  • The much awaited halloween and 6th month pictures are in.
