Here she is again, our sweet bundle of pure joy.

Serra V. and I are in California today and since
Thursday. It was quite an eventful trip down unfortunately. We left at a reasonable time and were on our way out of town when traffic came to a complete standstill. I was able to get off the freeway with the thought that I would go around it on the old highway. It was crawling too. As it turned out there was a tanker truck carrying some rediculous amount of talcum powder that exploded into a firey ball and The I-15 was shut down for the afternoon. It only took me 2 hours to get out of Las Vegas when it should have taken 15 minutes. We were on the road for 7 hours. Not easy for a baby but Serra was an angel and slept the whole time waking long enough for a snack midway. She looks happy doesn’t she? We have been enjoying the weather. It is quite balmy with cool breezes in the evening making the out of doors the place to be. Mom and I have taken the baby out for a few visits and we have done a little grocery shopping as well. We miss Brian a lot though and wish he were here too. He has to work and it upsets me that he rarely gets a weekend break unlike his manager who had all last week off and took a long weekend this week too, even though Brian expressed his desire to have this weekend to take a much needed rest with his wife and baby. Someday Brian will be in charge and things like this won’t be an issue. In the mean time we miss him. Anyway here are Serra V and I hanging in California.

Well I think I got this thing figured out. It is quite a process getting picture on this site without a digital camera. Anyway, last night we met Brian out at the Spagetti Factory for dinner. It’s always nice to enjoy an inexpensive meal and not have to do any dishes. Brian finds out if he got the new position today. Serra and I will do some visiting teaching. -
I am not sure how this all works but we are going to have a go at it.
It has been a very busy week for Brian. 58 hours in 5 days. He is exhausted. I went out to see him yesterday at work and tripped on a curb. I sprained my ankle and scared the baby. Serra was in the baby carrier and was not hurt at all but was awakened suddenly much to her dismay. I sat down on the curb and called Brian out to come and finish carrying her as I was not able. I am a clutz in case ya’ll are wondering. Speaking of Serra. She is delightful. She sings all the time. Even while sleeping she coos after evey breath. When Brian and I sing to her she sings back and smiles. She brings a great deal of happiness and laughter into our lives. Brian says it makes going to work bearable knowing what it’s for and that he has her to come home to. Not that I wasn’t good enough before, but … you know what I mean.
Last weekend Serra had her first cold and really got frusrated when she couldn’t breath. She really hates it when I take matters into my own hands and relieve her of some of the nose goo.
The weekend before that we blessed her. We had quite a showing and enjoyed having so many loved ones here. Serra slept through the whole weekend. I think she knows when she is the center of attention and when she gets sick of it she plays possom. Brian gave her a beautiful blessing with hopes that she would always remember who she was and to put Heavenly Father first in her life. Also, that she would remember those for who she was named for and the great family legacy she comes from. She looked beautiful in her Great Grandfather Arnell’s blessing gown, which was made for him in 1911. It is back in Grandma Arnell’s safekeeping.
